Yes it does help, it means you could access the web and I cannot! Where I go from here though, I do not know as I want to be able to use the web and cannot. Apology re E6, I was not correcting you. At first I had thought it was an improvement on E7 myself and was just stating that I now understood it was an upgrade of the E5. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Maurice Press" <mauricepr...@enterprise.net>

Hi Eleanor.
Firstly, I never said the E6 was an "Inprovement" on the E7 but that I
was told it was a newer phone.

My E7 was unlocked and originally came from o2.
However, when I used it I did try accessing the web and it did work.

Does that help at all.
Maurice.

I am not Allan but the E6 is not an improvement on the E7, it is the upgrade

to the E5. Was your E7 from Vodafone too Maurice? In that case it may have

the same firmware as mine.

Hi Alan, Thanks for this.
I'm still a little confused so let me try to unpik this.
I was told that the E6 is a newer phone from the E7. So, does this mean
that the E7 will work with Talks better than the E6 because of the Anna
technology.
I don't have my E7 available now as it's packed for shipping.
So, E7 latest version will work with Talks using the Web Browser whereas
E6 won't as yet. Is that about it?

Maurice Press.

hi Maurice,

e6 and e7 indeed can be the same technology. but however e6 is originally
come with symbian anna and since e7 release earlier this
year, it is come with symbian ^3 pr1.1. so by all means, the current
version
of talks which is 5.21.3 should be able to use in the
phone that have symbian ^3 pr1.1 but not symbian anna which is the case of
e6.

like my case, when the time i bought my n8, it is come with firmware
pr1.0.
and later on, i am able to update to pr1.1 and pr1.2.
only about 3 weeks ago, my n8 get the symbian anna treatment. originally,
symbian anna was called pr2.0.

if you still have the e7 with you, can you check the firmware version and
report back? to check the firmware version, press *#0000#
at the calling screen.

Hi Alan.

OK I'm very confused here by your response to Eleanor.

I assumed from what I've read that the E7 and E6 have the same technology.

If this is the case you yourself told me in a previous email that Talks
will not work with Anna technology at the moment which is why I am unable
to
access the web browser and the internet and talks will not speak. All it
will say when I launch the web is "Windows".

Is this correct or have I missed something.

Maurice Press.

hi Eleanor,

When I want to access the Internet Talks simply says Browser. I have
tried
pressing Talks and volume down twice but no joy.

by right when you launch a webpage, you can just press downArrow (vol
down)
to read line-by-line. if you explore the screen, you
will have some virtual controls such as next form, next frame, next text
field and etc.

in your separate reply, you mention that your phone is pr1.1, i dont see
why
you cant access to internet, because talks 5.21.3
should fully support in that area.
