Nothing being you are talking Android and not Symbian. Like any TTS! Code Factory may have signed a agreement to buy some TTS for use on Android. But this is totally different then the Symbian side of things. So this wouldn't have any impact on Talks at all that I can see. As far as that goes, JAWS uses TTS from Nuance as well. So does Apple. Keep in mind! Nuance is a very big company with many departments and lots of different operating systems that they deal with. So yes they deal with many different companies for different things and very little of this impacts Talks on the Symbian platform.

There have been rumors about Nuance taking over Code Factory, but there hasn't been any formal anouncement that I've seen anyway. But the part about market apps being tied to your Gmail account is true at least so far. I have two android phones and I can put any apps I've purchased on both phones because I'm using the same GMail acount for both. I'm not sure what the merger will mean for Talks and Mobile Speak products if it's true. One thing I wish would happen is that we would be able to use Eloquence on Mobile Speak or Mobile Accessibility. I'd be in heaven. I'm so used to Jaws and eloquence I'd pick it in a minute. Besides it's has the best pronunciation of english words of any TTS out there and it's much more responsive. Although I do have to say that Samantha is very responsive also. I just prefer Reed as the voice and none of the male voices are as good as Grace or Samantha at least to my ear.

I was just told by a service provider that:

" Code Factory is a partner of Nuance and this software is powered by Nuance Vocalizer text-to-speech. Mobile Accessibility uses Android Market licensing

Android Market are tied to your Gmail account."

Does anybody know if this is true?

Yes if you purchased an up to date mobile and installed the latest talks
email is not very good, symbol list is not accessible nore is internet nore
is the help system. I'm not saying this is the fault of nuance. In
previous years this did not happen where as this year it's the third time
that phone updates and talks have not been compatible. Talks used to be
streets ahead of the competition, right now I put mobilespeak slightly ahead

as it's support of maps is better than talks while as far as I know the
browser, email and symbol list have the same issues with both screen
readers.
