Hi.
I don't have a C5 my self, but i will give it a try, to guide you to the
place where to change this.
Go into your Setting's menu, and select general, Ajustment, Standby option's
and Shortcut's.
Here you'll find an unchecked box, called Active standby, check this, and
press ok, and back out of the menu's.
I am not sure that the procedure is just as described on a C5, but it should
give you a fingertip on, how to do this.

I am trying to help someone who uses the Nokia C5.
how does one disable the up and down select keys?
these keys are set up as short cuts by default.. I use the N82 myself and
there is a choice to make up and down keys inactive.
