Thanks the extra information helps clear things up as far as what you are
asking. Just one other thing to say encase people weren't aware of it. You can
switch to a diffenv tts on the fly without going into the Talks settings. This
can be done with a Talks followed with a long press of the clear key. Then you
can arrow to a different tts and press select to make it active.

So in your case, how do you see this working? I'm just asking to see how you
think this should work. Should a list come up when you do the command to switch
to a different setting profile? Or would it just cycle between the different
user profiles? How many profiles should a person have? How should they be named
if at all? Should a default one be tied to each tts? Just things to think
about. I probably could come up with other questions if I thought about it
more. But that is just off the top of my head while typing this on my phone.

stephen,
those app specific setting is only work when i set it for certain app, but what
about when in messaging? i usually use english for
my phone, but some time i do receive sms with chinese characters and therefore
the app specific setting is not suitable. i dont need
to switch to chinese TTS all the time and autometically, i just need to use
chinese TTS and with slower speet once awhile.

Hmmm

Something like that can already be done. You can use the App. Specific
Settings to set a program to use a set of setting for when you are using it.
In your example: When you go into speet 9 you can set this program to use a
TTS of your selection. Things you can set are teh TTS to use, Speed that
should be used, Volume to be used, Spelling speed, Pitch, Key Echo, Speek
Uppercase, Use Spelling Alphabet, etc... Basically the Options that are
normally found on the Speech Tab and the Advanced Tab of Talks can all be
set in a App. Specific settings for a program. Then the next time you go
into this program, those settings will be used for that program.
