It sounds like what you are getting is a Unicode character code. Sort of like an ascii character code. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Fredrik Andersson" <fredrik...@yahoo.se> To: "'Talks Mailing List'" <talks@talksusers.com> Sent: Saturday, June 18, 2011 6:19 AM Subject: Re: [Talks] Talks and smileys
Thanks for your tip. A question, I pressed talks and long 4 to turn graphics mode on, where the smiley shows I get the following: "unicode f88c", is it the code for the graphic? You open it up with Talks long select. then you arrow down to the focus line with the smily face and press select. This will then bring up another window. Now arrow down to the smily face and press select. This will probably be spoken as a list of numbers and letters if it is a true graphic. Press down arrow a few time until you hear replace with and type in smily face or what ever you want. Now press down arrow again to Applicaiton and press right arrow to assign it to the currently running program. Now you can press SoftKey2 to exit and Talks will ask if you really want to save it. Press SoftKey1 for YES. You will now be returned back to your text message. As you can see the steps are the same regardless of what graphics you are labeling. There is no difference. The hardest thing it making sure that you select the correct graphic to label. Signed: Stephen Giggar Skype: dr-phone. Hardware eventually fails, software eventually works. I must stres no punctuation must be read out by Talks in your text for this to happen. I have tried other emoticans in text messages but Talks does not recognise them. I had wondered if they came up like icons if the graphics labeller could be used for this purpose but I just do not understand how to do this correctly. Stephen Gigger gave an excellent account on how to do this and I found it excellent for labelling icons such as Inbox Outbox etc but I do not have the skills to transfer over to this situation. -original message- Subject: Re: [Talks] Talks and smileys From: "Fredrik Andersson" <fredrik...@yahoo.se> Date: 18/06/2011 5:07 AM It is not so easy, I have tested that. I copied the symbol but when I paste it in the dictionary it shows as the characters, not as the graphic symbol. I have upgraded the firmware in my Nokia c5 and discovered that smileys in sms are shown as graphics symbols. Is it possible to setup talks so it read the symbols as the characters that the smileys are? I have searched on nokia, but in some models it is possible to change how smileys are shown but not in c5. Thank you for your help.
