Normally on a keyboard the order is 1 2 3 star, next row 4 5 6 hash, next row 7 8 9 0. You can verify that by typing in a number when entering a number into a contact or when trying to dial a number when using the physical keyboard. The star and hash keys will be next two the keys for the numbers. So what you are saying is the numbers are not in different rows when entering a phone number when in a contact or on the dialing screen with the physical keyboard?

We've looked on the qwerty keyboard but can't find Star and hash where you indicated. However, having had a sighted colleague look at this, the Hash key is above the L and the star key above the Apostrophe which just out of interest doesn't say anything when I press it. Thanks. Yes you can do it on the keyboard beings you have the star and hash keys. The star key is beside the 3 and hash is beside the 6. So you would get the p and w the same way. You would press the star 3 times for the p and 4 times for the w when entering the information into a contact. Remember you must press the star quickly to get the extra things on it. Oh pressing the star twice will give the plus sign. Produced on a Nokia N95 smart phone using a Symbian based screen reader. Signed: Stephen Giggar Skype: dr-phone. Am I asking a bit for the moon here. 2 way: 1. when entering contacts, the first is something call "create my card" and the second on the list is "add to favorites", just press on this item and you will have all your contact list out for you to choose. 2. enter to the contacts, arrow down to the name that you wish to set to favorites, press key1 (options) and choose add to favorites. Now, I use the Qwerty keyboard as this is easier for me but, how can I replicate the Hash or > for that matter the star key. for the time being, i think the best method for you is to save the operator number with the "w" and the 4 digits pin. e.g. save the number in your contact like this: 012345w1234# the 012345 is the operator number and the 1234 is the pin. so, when you call this operator, it will wait for you to hit the key1 to dial the pin for you and the hash key too. again, this is my personal suggestion. -- Cheers, Allan (WKF) "Life is impermanent, happiness is not a necessity, a person must cherish the people around them." _______________________________________________ Talks mailing list Talks@talksusers.com http://lists.talksusers.com/mailman/listinfo/talks Hosting of this list provided courtesy of: eHosting Limited: http://www.ehosting.com/ and Talknav Inc. http://www.talknav.net/ ________________________________ No virus found in this message.
