But do not be too hard on the developers of Talks Maurice. I am sticking my
neck out here but am I not correct in saying that the N8 and e7 have arrived
on our shelves after the latest release of Talks. How can the developers
have designed these to work with touch screens. They did move quickly way
back at the time N97 and N97 Mini came out to ensure that for those of us
who were thinking of moving over, it was at least a possability.

Thanks Alan. This answer saves me a lot of time.
I would make one comment and this is not a criticism of Talks however,
it
does seem that quite a few functions are unavailable on the latest touch
screen phones with the latest version of Talks.
For example, on the N8 and E7 you can't set the date and time without
sighted assistance, the same goes for moving icons up and down the menu
or
onto the home screen and now of course as you have advised, it is not
possible yet to access speed Dialling.
This is a bit of a shame for those of us who want to move over to the
latest touch screen phones.
So, here I am in a bit of a cleft stick.
Do I stay with my N86 where I can move items up and down the menus, set
the
date and time easily and without sighted assistance and I can have all my
favourite contacts on speed dial or, do I totally move over to my E7
which I really like and would like to start using as my primary phone.
Do we know when the next upgrade of Talks is coming out and whether any of
these fixes will be included?
As I said this is not a criticism of Talks as I really like the programme
and appreciate all it does as well as the support. This is just a
personal
observation.

hi Maurice,
you wrote:
Before I start setting this up, can anyone advise me whether speed
dialing works on new touch screen phones using Talks. Just
to be clear, what I mean is where you assign a number to speed dial a
particular contact and then you just hold your finger on
the relevant number for it to speed dial.
no, this feature is not working when you have talks installed.
