One thing you should have tried with the pc is running the pc suite cleaner, also on the blind sea site, after uninstalling pc suite. Install the pc suite to the netbook without connecting the phone. Then immediately after installing restart the netbook. Also install the nokia software updater, this way you will get the latest drivers. You can install both of these then restart the netbook. After restarting then connect the phone in pc suite mode and give it a few minutes to find the phone and load drivers. One way you can check to see if the computer is seeing the phone is to go into the nokia phone browser and see if the N86 is listed there. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Griffith" <d.griff...@btinternet.com> To: "'Talks Mailing List'" <talks@talksusers.com> Sent: Friday, March 25, 2011 6:19 AM Subject: [Talks] PC suite
Dear list I am due to go on holiday in a couple of weeks and will need to install PC Suite on my aspire Netbook to hook up with my N86. Basically installing PC suite on My PC was a nightmare which took effort over several days and I have been putting off repeating the experience on my Netbook. On my Pc what happened was. My N86 came with ODI suite which was inaccessible to Jaws. I then downloaded what was said to be the latest version of PC suite from Blind Sea but the installation program crashed every time I tried to install it. I then completely uninstalled ODI suite. PC Suite now installed OK but nothing I could do could make PC suite recognise my N86. I am fairly certain I ran the software update multiple times but the N86 could not be recognised. I then installed ODI suite again. Still the N86 could not be recognised. Uninstalled PC Suite and ODI suite. Installed ODI suite only to then find PC Suite would not install again. Uninstalled and ODI and re-installed PC Suite and then ODI again. I thought it had not worked but suddenly after a computer restart PC Suite recognised the N86 and has done so ever since. Is there a failsafe process where I can install PC suite on my Netbook so it will recognise my N86 without all this hassle?
