Ok thanks as it is working ok apart from having to read some messages line by line it's working very well with talks. There are a couple of aspects that could be better but as you say generally it's working well and I don't want to risk it as updates generally can not be rolled back. I hope one day they fix the problem that goes with setting a primary mailbox. I've found you have to receive a message via a mailbox before you can switch it to your primary mailbox. If you try setting a primary before receiving a message you get the error message Primary can not be set, connect to the mail box first. Just connecting to the one you want to set as primary makes no difference but once there is a received message in the inbox you then can set it as primary so it's on the standby screen. If you don't have a primary set the email icon is not on the home screen. I've learned this unwritten rule but I bet there are many nokia users out there who've seen the error message and don't know what to do.

Bernard

The EMail client being updated would have nothing to do with the Symbol table not being spoken by Talks. The EMail is just that a software update and not a firmware update. So when you run the Software updater on the phone! It only updates software like EMail and not the firmware.

Myself, If the email is working for you with Talks! Then I would not update it. You know the old saying! If it isn't broke, then why fix it.

So again if email is working on your E72 with Talks, then I would leave it aloan. I would not update the EMail program unless you had a old copy of the install file for the EMail program.

Hardware eventually fails, software eventually works.
No amount of bandwidth can fix poor design.

Subject: [Talks] new version /update of nokia email in software update.

Hi,
I noticed this update last night on my e72.
I was just about to implement the update when I remembered the last update and how it effected talks causing problems with the symbols table amoung other issues. I closed the software updating utility and decided to ask re this issue on list.
So has any talks user applied the email update version 3.9
via software update and if so does this effect talks and if so in what way.
Any advice on this much appreciated.
Thanks in advance if you can assist re nokia email version 3.9.
