hi,
take note that the problem is not because of talks, it is because nokia did 
some changes to the contacts application. to edit the 
number of a contact, do the following:

in the contacts, select any name, press select key or press option>open, you 
will now see 2 options, call and send message. at this 
point, press option and arrow down to view details and press select. now you 
can see the list of numbers and first/last name of the 
person. to edit, just press the select key and choose edit.

I have noticed  that the C5 has no edit field in the contacts menu. This 
feature was convenient if you wanted to use a number for a 
different phone or to call it out to someone. Talks allowed you to arrow 
through the number digit by digit.

Also, on the C5 when you press on open in the contacts menu, instead of reading 
out the available numbers like it did on the N73, 
you are given two options: call or message.

How do talks users access the actual phone numbers in their contacts?
