In this case, you have the active standby turned on. This means you can
arrow Left and Right to get to different programs and then press select to
open that program. I wouldn't also suggest that you not use the End-call
button that is above the number three to get back to the Standby screen. I
would suggest that you use SoftKey2 to cleanly exit a program when you are
done with it. The SoftKey2 is the top right button on the C5. This will back
you out one screen at a time but cleanly exit a program. Pressing the
End-call button is like going into the task manager on your computer and
telling it to end a task. This is asking for problem at some time down the
road, it is more likely to get corrupted being it isn't exited cleanly.

Hi Eleanor
Well on my c5 I removed the things from shortcuts that I
didn't use such as the camera, store, and put on the things
I used, i.e. bluetooth, music player, and notes. If you
press the key above the 3 and go to the main screen, I find
that I can access all my new programs in a row left to right
on that screen. It takes a while to work out.
Do you have a list of shortcuts on the c5 please?
Regards
Adrien

No there is no way to have more than eight. Actually I can
only think of 7
*smile*, soft key one, soft key 2, the 4 arrow keys and the
select key.
There is, as we have discussed before on a Talks list, a
short-cut key for
Bluetooth on the C5 but I must look that up and will come
back on it.

Hi Eleanor
I don't quite understand how the shortcuts work on the c5,
please can you help me? I went into the standby mode, then
shortcuts, it gives me a list. How do I set a new one? I
would like the bluetooth set so I can quickly access it
and
switch it on and off. Is there a setting in talks to make
it
tell me what the shortcut is? What am I missing here? Ok I
have just been fiddling, I have set-up the shortcuts, can
I
only have 8 shortcuts? Is there no way to have extras?
Regards
Adrien

Menue, Tools, settings, general, personalisation, home
screen, (this needs
to be set to basic) m then select key shortcuts.Once you
have selected on
the shorcut keys you will have the list of all the arrow
keys etc, select
the one you want, press select on that to change it and
then
In my case, I
have left selection key for podcasting, select on that or
whatever one you
want and yuou will be in a long list of options you can
choose from, arrow
down until you come to the one of your choice and then
press
soft key one on
that to accept it. Finally press soft key two as many
times
as it takes you
to get right back to the standby screen.

Subject: [Talks] setting a shortcut key in Talks
Hi list,
I presently have 2 shortcut keys in Talks. One is the
right arrow to
load the Loadstone window and the other is the left arrow
to load the Blue
Tooth window so that I can turn Blue Tooth on and off
quickly.
Now, I want to set a third shortcut key, probably the
up arrow, to load
the Maps window for OVI Maps, but I can't remember how to
do this.
I am using a Nokia E71 with the latest version of
Talks.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Don
