I thought I would post this just encase it help you. This is from the
release note file and what it says about OVI Maps. There is some limitation
in Walk mode. So please read the below. The suggestion about drive mode with
the pressing of up arrow may also help you.
* On the "My Position" screen, TALKS reads the address of the current
position by default. Pressing [Talks],[long Key 2] for additional
information also reads the city/region.
* While following a route on the "Drive" and "Walk" screens, TALKS will read
the street and distance to the next turn by default, and give additional
information (e.g. current position, distance to destination etc.) when
pressing [Talks],[long Key 2].
* While following a route in "driving" mode, it is possible to preview the
next turns by pressing [Up] several times. This will read the street names
and distances to travel for each of the turns. This feature is not available
in "walking" mode.
* While following a route, the standard keyboard commands of Ovi Maps are
available, such as [4] to repeat reading of the last instruction and [2] to
save the current position as a favourite.
* Additional services, such as "Weather", "Events" or "More" in the main
menu are not yet accessible.
* The contents of the "About" screen (under Options > Support) are currently
not read.

Hi Stephen. Talks and long soft key 2 gave me the speed in which the
vehicle was traveling at. up arrow key didn't tell me anything. I'll try
Talks and up arrow key tomorrow. I've just updated the firmware on my
Nokia E5 yesterday and the firmware date is for December 2010 Version
0.42.014.

Example Talks followed by a long press of soft KEY2? Talks followed by up
arrow? Or just pressing up arrow a few times? Also what version of maps
are you running? What phone are you using? Firmware version?

Hi. I had given Ovi Maps a go today with Talks. It seems to me that
Talks will not announce the current street when in navogation mode for
walk or drive. Talks will count down the remaining distance and will
announce once a turning has been made. Is there a way of revealing the
name of the current road and the next turning?
