Dave you can try a Soft Reset and see if that takes care of your issue. This
will leave all data in place. However this will reset ringtones and the like
back to factory defaults. Talks, and any other software will still be there
after the reset.
From the main standby screen, do a
*#7780# Then answer YES to the question about restoring defaults. Then type
in the lock code normally 12345 if you have not changed it from the default
followed by OK. Then the phone will restart on you and come back up talking.

Subject: [Talks] Resetting question about N86
Hello everyone:
does anyone know of a way to reset the N86 to its factory default
settings,
without using the menu option, without losing any data.
For example, is there a way to reset the N86 to its factory default
settings, using a key combination along with the on button.
The reason why I am asking, is a friend has changed something in the
settings menu, which now prevents Talks speaking the menu items when you
open "Menus" from the standby screen.
Talks speaks the items on the standby screen but, will not speak the
status
of the phone when you press the Talks key followed by soft key 2, nor will
it say anything if you press the keys to open the Talks settings menu.
Thanks in anticipation.
Sincerely:
Dave Durber
