Hi NIcol,

1. The 1st sms of a mobile is 160 and not 60. When it comes to the 2nd
sms, it will drop only to 145.

2. The chars per sms include new line as well, hard return.

Subject: [Talks] input status problem on the e66

Hi all
After writing an sms I wish to send, I pressed talks and I hold down key2
for a second.
Talks told me:
"20, 2, upper case."
>From What I have read on this list earlier, the number 2 means I have
exceeded the number of characters of one sms.
The maximum number of characters for 1 sms is 60.
Is this right?
I wrote the text of the sms in notepad on my pc.
I saved the text file on my phone.
Then I went to file manager on my phone and opened the text file from there.
And then I choose send as text message from the options menu.
After I sent the sms, I opened the text file containing the text of the sms,
in Microsoft word.
I clicked properties on the file menu and I clicked the statistics tab.
MSWord shows that the text file contains 280 characters including spaces.
So if it is so that 1 sms can only contain 60 characters, then in reality
talks is suppose to give the number 5 as 60 times 4 is 240 and then the
remaining 40 characters, adds up to 5 s m esses.
Is this right?
Or does talks give me the wrong figures when I press talks key2 long press
for input status?
Any help is much appreciated.
I am using talks4, non-premium.
