there are a couple of versions there where accessibility and supported features on your phone need to be balanced. Personally I use 7.1.19. I find this is a good balance between newly supported features like bluetooth connection management. You access most if not all pc suite options by clicking the pc suite icon on the system tray which brings up a menu which you can up or down arrow through and jaws speaks all the options so arrow to your choice and press enter. An earlier version is more accessible meaning you can open pc suite and tab through the various options. But against that you lose some features. Rarely if ever do I need to open pc suite in itself but use the system tray menu to access the options found in pc suite. So if you can handle system tray menus i'd give 7.1.19 a go. if not then an earlier version may be better for you. by the way the bluetooth connection management connects the phone and pc randomly then it closes the connection if a true connection is suddenly required the phone and pc connect very quickly. In earlier versions the bluetooth connection was held open and ready at all times very draining on battery life. Also the later versions install message and contact pluggins to the phone earlier versions may not have these features.

Dear Listers,

If I need to connect to the internet via gprs on my n82 via USB Cable to
a new notebook running Jaws 11, windows 7 64 bit, home premium, which
version of pc suite if any, should I install from the blindsea site?

I've done this before but under windows xp.

Thanks and regards,

Riana

you will lose the applications installer if you do that. the latest pc
suite is not accessible. You will find earlier versions on blindsea.

Thanks Steve, nice one.
I will uninstall it from my machine then, I don't seem to be able to
do
much with it.

Steven

You do not need to go into PC Suite first in order to install a file.
You
can just find the file on your PC, Press enter on it, and PC Suite
should
bring up a box asking if you want to install the file. You may need to
use
the review cursor on your PC screen reader to find and click the YES
button.
At that point, the file will be sent to the phone and the phone will
then
start prompting you for the needed information. At this point, you
must
use
he phone to finish the install.

Like I said, you do not need to be in PC Suite.

Subject: [Talks] Nokia PCSuite

Hi friends,

I have installed the Nokia PC Suite from the BlindSea web site, the
latest
version but I can't seem to get the menus to work to be able to
install
the latest version of Talks on my Microsoft Windows XP machine.
Is there a way around this?
Can I copy the Talks files to the phone and install them that way?

Many thanks in anticipation for any help,

Steve.
