Hola comunidad. Me ha llegado el siguiente mensaje a propósito del GADM
(ver abajo).
Lastimosamente he estado super ocupado toda la semana y la próxima estaré
ausente, así que si alguien puede avanzar en este tema, les agradezco.
Para los que no saben, el GADM es una importación que se hizo hace algunos
años a OSM. Lastimosamente ahora con el cambio de licencia, y por alguna
razón que no la conozco, es incompatible por el caso de Ecuador. Eso en
resumidas cuentas implica que tendrán que borrar los datos del GADM
(Principalmente son límites administrativos).
Mi propuesta es que revisemos si todos los límites que tenemos son del GADM
(Tal vez hayan otros de otras fuentes) y los eliminemos nosotros mismos.
Luego podemos hacer una importación de alguna fuente oficial aprovechando
que en Ecuador hay ahora disponible buena cartografía pública.
Si alguien quiere colaborar en este proceso, pongámonos de acuerdo y vemos
como lo trabajamos. Como les digo, yo estaré fuera hasta el 24 de Mayo así
que si pueden avanzar, mejor. Porfa, si alguien puede traducirlo a Español
que ya no me alcanzó el tiempo.

I apologize for using English.
During the preparation for the licence change, the DWG and LWG were
alerted to the fact that in a number of countries data has been imported
from the GADM project. This is a big problem because the GADM data is
distributed with a non-commercial licence and can't be used without
prior explicit permission from GADM, which can only be given if the
original data has a compatible licence. Note that this is not an ODbL
vs. CC by SA issue, the GADM licence is incompatible with both.
The LWG contacted GADM and managed to obtain permission to use GADM data
in the majority of the countries in question, with the exception of
five, where the original source licence does not allow it. Unluckily
Ecuador is one of these five countries, implying that we have to remove
the GADM data as soon as possible.
The best way forward would for the Ecuadorian community to remove this
data on their own accord, however if user account, changesets or object
ids can be supplied, I am sure the DWG will be able to process them if
necessary.
