I forgot to follow up on two other aspects of this, sorry. A) how are they tagged when two of them are on both sides of a gate <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guard_stone#/media/File:RM13489_Dordrecht_-_Catharijnepoort.jpg> ?
B) There are occasionally also rows of them in historic towns <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guard_stone#/media/File:Passage_Saint-Paul.jpg> . C) Freestanding guardstone-like objects are often found independently of buildings. I am not sure what they are called, here are some examples. They come in three types of arrangements:: pairs, or rows, or pairs of rows. The pairs are often on minor roads on embankments <https://www.mapillary.com/map/im/d8VNuhGSc_LQKfecW4pwzA> (don't know what the purpose was) The rows are often on major roads on embankments <https://www.mapillary.com/map/im/YoMdRCUHRzS8uZvdOFAVoQ>, or older mountain pass roads. <https://www.mapillary.com/map/im/Obq2gPh-ViSMGU6EOZ2SgQ> (predecessors of guardrails I suppose) Volker <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> Virus-free. www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> <#m_980705564951531214_DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> On Mon, 21 Dec 2020 at 11:50, Anne-Karoline Distel <annekadis...@web.de> wrote: > Hi, > > there haven't been any comments on it in a while, so I think it is safe > to start the voting process on > > https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/guard_stone > > Voting ends on January 4th. > > Thanks to everyone who contributed to the discussion and proposal page! > > Happy holidays, > > Anne (b-unicycling) > > > _______________________________________________ > Tagging mailing list > Tagging@openstreetmap.org > https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging > <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> Virus-free. www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2>
