There is a difference between tracks worn by wild animals and bridleways. Wild animal tracks may not be walkable on foot. Bridleways are intended for riders on horses AND for walkers. There may be no physical difference between a footpath and a bridleway, the distinction being a legal one of who is allowed access. -- Paul
