In the past there have been other cases where iD has consciously established alternative tagging for things that had different, established tagging documented. Bryan acknowledged AFAIR that it isn't optimal, and it should be resolved now, e.g. for reference: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/tagging/2018-June/037080.html If there are still issues, I do not believe [tagging] is the right place to discuss this, maybe "talk" would be better.
