According to Wikipedia definition:

"A heliport is a small airport suitable only for use by helicopters. Heliports typically contain one or more helipads and may have limited facilities such as fuel, lighting, a windsock, or even hangars. In larger towns and cities, customs facilities may be available at a heliport."

Helipad is just a landing place (for example some hospitals have them alone), heliport is more than this, so they are not the same. Look at this heliport:

It's tiny and have only one helipad, but the infrastructure contains some terminals and the apron.
