Pole without a pole = pole? I am confused. What sort of structure are you
describing?

Mast - pole with guy-wires.
Tower - free-standing with wider base usually with several aerials/dishes
Mast without guy-wires = pole.
Pole with only one guy-wire = pole.
Pole without a pole = pole.
