Wiki ( https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:surface ) lists
paving_stones:30
and paving_stones:20 as good values for key surface, defined as
"Square paving stones with 30cm/20cm sides".

I think it is a really bad idea, there is a really wide variety of sizes of
paving stones
and cobblestones, so it would doom as to many variations of these tags.
What worse, it already started - see
https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/surface#values
and search for : sign among values.

Information about size of paving stones is not so important to mark it by
introducing wide set
of values in tag "surface".

I propose to remove this value from list on wiki or at least mark it as a
poor idea.

Forming consensus whatever we want surface=cobblestone:8,
surface=cobblestone:9,
surface=cobblestone:10, surface=cobblestone:11 etc tags would be a good
idea to
guide data consumers which kind of tags should be supported by a reasonable
application.
