now Massachusetts is interesting (and to my mind, silly.) they frequently don't use the black-and-yellow signs, they just use conventional black-and-white speed limit signs to mean the same thing. you'd pretty much have to use maxspeed for those. this would mean a lot of short ways, as i've seen long curves where they stepped the speed down 5 or 10mph at a time. > 2.
