I have a question regarding udevadm and I hope someone can help.
The question is :
Is the naming convention or the output format of the response to
“udevadm info”
Regarding the field
E: ID_SERIAL_SHORT=10A29A3A358D095EB
|
Char20
Going to stay the same for the next 2 years or so, can we know in advance?
- in the sense that the type E: field ID_SERIAL_SHORT
Will retain the same format.
In the sense of: The name of the field
And : The first character of the actual serial number
being at character position 20
(We saw a change in the output of the ID_SERIAL field between ubuntu 22.04 LTS
and 24.04 LTS, hence the question)
