I have no idea about cfengine, and never heard of "sensu", but if you have some daemon that starts some other daemon, make sure it does so through systemd. i.e. fork off "systemctl", or use some bus calls, or so. On some distros sysv scripts forward to systemctl internally, but that might not work on other distros, or 3rd party scripts.
