Glad you found that imp2osis.pl provided a solution.

There’s a page on the Sword developers’ wiki about .conf files.
It does describe the Versification key.
Another page describes Alternative Versifications.

NB. CrossWire never uses e-Sword content as a source for our distributed 
modules.
