Dear All,

I received a complaint regarding a module identifier I have chosen for a module
as the publisher had something else in mind.

The background is a rather long ago discussion and a joint decision we had here
(in the run up to Michael joining with eBible):

- Module identfiers are meant to be internal only and follow a scheme:
(Repository)-(Language)-Identifier-Year. The result is unpleasant to the eye
and confuses users, but helps us avoiding clashes
- To make it non-confusing to users Module conf files will allow to present
arbitrary abbreviations and either these or the About should be used by
frontends to present a module to the user

I think a variety of frontends still use the module identifier - and of course
CrossWire's website's download page does so too. I will attend to the last one
as soon as I can. But can I ask all those who develop frontends to consider how
to make this nicer?

Thank you!

Peter
