Hi Michael, Earlier this year, I learned that *Unicode Normalization to NFC* is undesirable for a number of Indic writing systems.
It became apparent that the *Gurmukhi* script used for *Punjabi* is one such system. For this reason, I just investigated exactly what changes when the *Assamese* source text is converted to NFC.
