Specifically for xulsword, the developer has defined a file association for the extension .xsm (which denotes 'xulsword module'.
It is equivalent to a renamed .zip file, but with the particular feature that it may be readily installed into xulsword by either drag & drop or by the file association (double click, etc). An .xsm file may include more than one module, with the option of including ancillary resources.
