Hello My name is Michael and I'm a software developer from Israel. I just joined the list to share with you some things I know about Hebrew translations of the NT. I did a little research during the last month, and these are the results: There are 3 (main) versions of the NT in Hebrew: 1. Delitzsch 2. Salkinson-Ginsburg (PDF) 3. The New Translation You can read all here: http://jer-31.com The New Translation: very common in israel. Translated by Atzmon, and now spread (printed) by "The Bible Society in Israel". It's language is easier than Delitzsch, but considered less reliable. Salkinson-Ginsburg: Not in use at all, and not many even heard about it (I don't know even one believer who read that translation). As far as I know not translated by believers, so not relevant. For some reasons, it's very easy to get it online (I really don't know why). Delitzsch: considered as the most reliable Hebrew translation. Very common, similar to KJV in English. Printed (mostly) by Keren Ahvah. The problem is that Delitzsch himself wrote some versions, more then 10 (!). So it's complicated to understand what is "Delitzsch" and see the differences from version to version. Digital copies of Delitzsch: I have been searching around for digital copies of Delitzsch, for use in my projects. Here is the summery:
And maybe, together we can find the digital accurate Delitzsch transltaion! |
