It is still down for me, and it has been "down" like this for over a week now. I am trying to access it from Africa / Zimbabwe, perhaps that makes a difference. Trying to access www.crosswire.org through a ssh tunnel effectually accessing it from the USA works great. Is crosswire blacklisting some IP groups? Teus.
