Updating to a freshly-built Sword library from the Crosswire.org
Subversion repository definitely helped. Obviously, the bug fixes
therein need to be rolled out so that they filter down to the relevant
Linux distributions and Windows installers. Anyway, I went from silent
omission of all of the text of the Bible (obviously not satisfactory)
to something that looks reasonable (if somewhat lacking in the poetry
formatting department, as viewed with Xiphos 3.1.1 on Linux). I'll run
more languages through and check the output more completely when I get
a chance. If all goes well, some of the languages I'm working on will be posted publicly at PNGScriptures.org in several formats, including Sword modules. (They will be posted at TokPlesBaibel.org, too, for the benefit of you who are fluent in Melanesian Pidgin.) There have been a few reports about failures to create proper Sword modules, but all of these could be resolved by using, not the latest released sword library, but the sword library now in the subversion repository.Teus. I just tried it, again, and failed to get something that actually works in Xiphos. I have permission to create Sword modules from a large number of Bible translations and portions for minority languages that are available in USFM. I need and easy, automated way to do that. Has one been created, yet, that is reliable and truly automatic? Forgive me if this question has been answered recently on this list. I have been in email overload mode, and only read a small fraction of mailing list email, lately. Thanks! Michael Johnson http://kahunapule.org |
