All, This is not in reply to any particular email, but a general statement. I am afraid that I have used overly emotive words and said things in haste that I might not have said if I had thought longer and harder. It may also have appeared too hasty and jumped to conclusions too fast: if so, that was because I was mentally continuing the discussion last year when these facts were stated. I also erred in calling BibleCS "unsupported" rather than "unmaintained" as I meant, though to some extent that reflects my feeling that maintenance and improvement are a part of the support obligation. Apologies are deserved for this.
The facts I stated are to the best of my knowledge correct, and my conclusions from them are unchanged, but they could probably have been expressed in better spirit. Some of the positions held in this thread I think are wrong or at best misguided, but I suspect I am not in the right frame of mind to rebut them considerately and so will try not to let this thread blow out further.
