One problem with using some form of automatically generated maps is that a
good map is not simply a map with all the places on it; places from the same
area and time need to be put together on the same map, with different maps
for different times. Which places to put on each map, and how the boundaries
of each map, still have to be worked out - which I would think would require
a human to do well.
