In the KJV module, Revelation 1:8 is red letter.

8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which
is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

In the KJV, Revelation 21:6, none of it is red letter, despite the similar
phrases used as names of the speaker.

6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water
of life freely.

Is this just due to differences in exegesis, or due to red letter markup
errors?
What about the speech in verses 5,7-8 ?

cf. The Spanish http://www.reinavaleragomez.com/ ReinaValeraGomez Bible
has all the speech in verses 5-8 with red letters.

What's the consensus among exegetes for this passage?

-- David
