John H., There are several aspects here
1) formal law 2) what is liked and supported by copyright holders 3) general behaviour on the mailing list Wrt 1), while I have no clue what the US American situation is in detail or in particular US states, I have no reason to believe that Chris is wrong. Wrt your supposed expertise, I do not care much for it. I would in general prefer if a international project like Crosswire would drive down in exactly the middle of the road, rather than trying to skirt the sides and finding whatever loopholes there might be. I am sure I am not alone. Wrt 2) - we want to work together with copyright holders to and have to gain a lot more from creating goodwill than by scraping a few websites. wrt 3) your behaviour is appalling. I see no reason for Chris to apologise, but plenty for you. And considering your last attempt to change another thread and involve someone new who asks an innocent, unconnected question, yet another reason to apologise. You have shown yourself as a most unpleasant person and I would prefer if you move on. Please consider any other conversation we two had as closed.
