It seems to me that there must be a number of Bible related digitization projects around the world where those involved may not be taking full advantage of the use of Neural Network computing in OCR applications. This 2003 article by Alex Cherkasov covers some of the techniques involved. http://www.codeproject.com/KB/dotnet/simple_ocr.aspx http://www.codeproject.com/KB/dotnet/simple_ocr.aspx
The author's company includes products in this application area, for both the .NET environment and Delphi. http://www.xpidea.com/ http://www.xpidea.com/ Prices for these Neural Network code libraries are quite reasonable. Proper selection of software tools could speed up the digitization of other public domain Bible editions in various languages. Further discussion on this topic is welcome, especially if any forum members have expertise in this area. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Neural-Networks-and-Optical-Character-Recognition-tp16850434p16850434.html Sent from the SWORD Dev mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ sword-devel mailing list: sword-devel@crosswire.org http://www.crosswire.org/mailman/listinfo/sword-devel Instructions to unsubscribe/change your settings at above page
