Hi Luke, 40 years ago I found the http://www.navigators.org/us/resources/illustrations/items/Topical%20Memory%20System Navigators' Topical Memory System very valuable for memorizing Scripture verses.
In the current issue of the http://www.banneroftruth.org/ Banner of Truth magazine, there is an excellent article by the Rev Dr Peter Barnes on Scripture Memorization. The article is too recent to have yet appeared also online.
