I found a nifty little EULA that comes with the CD Earth software. I haven't seen this before, so I assume it's not linked to anywhere, just loaded directly from their installer. This is the only license agreement they provide, no explicit mentions of GPL unless the software itself mentions it in some way. (For example, the Windows Sword installer gives the GPL and their installer appears to be unchanged from ours.)
Here's the link: http://www.cdearth.com/license_agreement.html It's sort of laughable because it makes the assertions that CD Earth doesn't actually own any software, they're not selling software (just licensing it to you), and that third party license agreements always supersede the license agreement with CD Earth. There's actually another GPL violation in this since they are disclaiming themselves as parties to the GPL. I.e. they are claiming that the GPL that governs the software they are distributing is a license between the software owner (e.g. CrossWire) and the software user, but it's also a license between the software owner and CD Earth and between CD Earth and the user. It's also laughable because they didn't use a grammar checker. --Chris _______________________________________________ sword-devel mailing list: sword-devel@crosswire.org http://www.crosswire.org/mailman/listinfo/sword-devel Instructions to unsubscribe/change your settings at above page
