Hi Troy, I am a subscriber, and I also started http://www.maildeflector.netseveral years ago using custom code. It is an RBL.
If this list is a subscriber only post list, then you can use maildeflector to block all ip addresses except those ip addresses that have subscribed through judicious use of private ban list and private reserve list. We have had many complaints from people who have found their support emails archived on public forum archive sites because they were forwarded to sword-devel or other. sword-support should indeed be private.
