There is a simple advantage to supporting OSIS as the only format going
forward: Standardization.
It might not be a bad thing (and this appears to be what you are already doing) to officially support only OSIS for the modules available from the SWORD Project, while still, at least for now, maintaining support for a few other formats that make importing personal modules easier. That makes it much easier for a user to take advantage of the features of SWORD with text which might not be public domain or freely distributable but is still available. I congratulate, and deeply thank, the team that is responsible for maintaining the whole family of applications for a very high quality product - and Troy for being an excellent and gracious leader!
It gives us the opportunity to develop a rich and full architecture
rather than supporting a multitude of formats. We can focus on text
quality and quality delivery in a feature rich environment.
Ultimately this means that we make the Word of God more accessible.
Which is what I think we are all about.
