Daniel,

This is a good request.

BibleDesktop shows the reference for every displayed passage at the top of the page. Further in the nightly build, the user can now choose how to display how they would like to display the verse reference (e.g. verse, chapter/verse, book/chapter/verse).

I find that paste in OpenOffice often works best when pasting to use "Paste without formatting". Unfortunately, MS Word does not have this capability and pasting a selection from HTML preserves the HTML, often making it difficult to work with.

Thanks,
   DM

This might be a good thing to implement for frontends if they don't already.

Subject: [sword-support] Copying Text

Sirs, I love the sword project. I use it often but I have one caveat that I
cannot get around.
When viewing a series of verses (for example Acts 2:38-39) I sometimes
would like to copy the verses into an email, MS Word, or Open Office
Writer.
However, when I highlight and copy the verses and then paste into a
document I get the verses but not the reference.
For example:

38Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39For the promise is to you, and
to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the
LORD our God shall call.

This is very annoying. It is very time consuming as well to have to
type in the Reference (Acts 2), especially if I am doing a lot of
references.

Is there a way around this? Am I missing something?
Currently if I need to copy verses then I use the Theophilus Bible
(http://www.theophilos.sk/) because I can highlight the reference
along with the text.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every
one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and
ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that
are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

However, I would like to completely switch to sword project but cannot
until this is fixed.

Thank You,
Darrell
