Seeing the letter from Tyndale, I can't see anything wrong with their response.   I was actually going to point out that there are certainly web versions of the NLT available for free. 
 
This is quite useful and I've used it a lot myself, with  Lynn Allan's terrific InVerse Bible memory program, since he includes a good range of commercial translations (including NASB and NLT) within acceptable limits, AND has the web link so a user can go to the Bible Gateway to get any verse they want.
 
I think it's more reasonable to encourage things like the WEB project to keep copyright-free modern translations available.
