I'm new to the sword project and to C++ projects of this size, but I have VC++ 6. So I pulled the CVS tree, opened the \apps\windoze\vc\swordlib\swordlib.dsw and tried to build, but got numerous errors. There were 162, so I won't go into all of them, but I think I might have narrowed it down to a template bug in VC 6.0. Unfortunately I know next to nothing about templates, but it appears they are being used. The error I think is the main culprit is "error C2653: 'HebrewMCIM' : is not a class or namespace name". The following page has more information if anyone is curious (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q214619).

If these are known issues I'm sorry for the redundancy and would love to be pointed to documentation for the workaround. Otherwise I'm willing to work through these if someone has suggestions about what might be needed.

I also have a couple of general question about the project. How would I go about building/modifying the actual interface myself? It doesn't appear to be part of the CVS tree. Are there general project documents for the windows interface such as planned features?

Thanks in advance,
Michael Turner

Is VC++ 5 known to work with Sword? What sorts of problems are you having? I would prefer to test my stuff with VC++ 6 or 7 if possible but I can also try with VC++ 5. Steve, have you been able to compiler just the Sword library with VC++?

Thanks,

Joel

I have VC++5 and am willing to help. But so far I build with Cygwin with
source code outa the box and never really dug into the source. I haven't
done it with VC5. I just started to try to use ActiveDiatheke with VC5 w/o
success.

Hi all,

Under the latest CVS Checkout I believe under apps/windoze somewhere
in there you can find a microsoft visual build of an interface... Not
sure if this helps or not

The problem is that I don't have MSVC++ to try it out with.
