How yo you draw the “not enough entropy” conclusion? The writing happens at shutdown; before you do the shutdown could you please do a ‘sysctl kern.random’ and post the result? Do you have anything random-related in your rc.conf? Could you please do a verbose boot on a kernel with “options RANDOM_DEBUG” set and send me the dmesg output from a failing box.
