[snip] Sweet. It sounds like we're all on the right track and finding various entry places where there's no default vnet context and there should be.
Just note that in my patch I only set a default vnet context if there isn't already one. I recall there being _some_ device attach stuff that occurs with a non-default context; hence why I special cased it.
