I'm still having problems with r230451. Every time I boot one of the
machines I have at home it makes a short but loud "popping" sound. I almost
fell of my chair the first time it happened. Now I'm being forced to unplug
my speakers every time I boot it, just to avoid having a heart attack...
I remember about your problem, but so far you are the only who reported
it. It may be specific to your system. I don't know how to fix it now.
Some deeper experiments are needed to localize the cause. I would start
commenting parts of attach/initialization process to find the situation
when click disappear. That may give idea about source of click and what
to do about it.
