This disables NIS by default which is rather surprising considering there has 
been no prior (which I have been able to find) discussion of this.

At the _VERY_ least people need to be warned about this loudly. Unless you can 
show this really helps non-NIS users this is IMO a bad idea.

Yes, if you hand merge all /etc files this won't be a problem... but I don't 
since life's to short for that, so this change just broke login on one of the 
FreeBSD.org during an upgrade.
