I actually liked having the remnants of whatever I was looking at in
$PAGER left behind on the screen, and would appreciate it if someone
could tell me how to restore that locally.

I know that there was a thread about it recently, and I thought I'd
saved the e-mail that discussed this issue but I didn't.
