Sometime before 7.0 the addition of this hint caused all leX devices to be renamed le(X+1) because le0 was taken and disabled. Restoring this will cause the same thing in reverse. Unless someone actually has this hardware (as opposed to its emulation) and needs the hint for something, I'd suggest these particular lines be removed before 8.0 to restore the original behaviour quickly.
